The following is important information you need to know to ensure that you, other occupants of your unit and recurring vendors have access to the property using the new Butterfly MX Building Access System.

This site is where owners register for access for their occupants and vendors.

• If you rent out your unit, short-term or long-term, please exit this site and visit www.malibuoutriggerrentals.com to complete the access registration process

  • Password: “Meatball1”

• Each unit owner may receive access for up to ten (10) individuals.

• ALL owners must re-register in the system ____________, 2026. All previous registrations in Butterfly MX will be deactivated, so re-registration is mandatory for all.

  • Only Owners may log in and register their devices for themselves, other occupants registered to their unit, tenants, housekeeping and maintenance personnel.

  • All of your building entry devices will be linked to your unit. Owners are responsible for all entries for their unit’s occupants, guests and vendors

  • Devices should not be shared.

  • Any of your occupants or vendors use of entry credentials other than those belonging to your unit is prohibited.

• REGISTRATION/ACCESS TURN-AROUND TIME

  • Online Registrations will be processed Monday thru Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT

  • We will make best efforts to provide entry credentials within three (3) hours of registration receipt.

  • Registrations received after 6 p.m. PT will be processed the next day by 12 p.m. PT.

• Mechanical “blue keys” will be disabled as of ________, 2026, at which time access to the building and all property gates/doors will be operated electronically.

  • Previous “Visitor Pass” functionality on the Butterfly MX app will no longer be available.

  • All non-registered guests, including delivery personnel, may still be granted access through the front lobby door using the video call-box at the main entrance. (USPS, UPS, FedEx excluded)

• All owners, occupants and vendors must install the Butterfly MX smartphone app on their devices to access throughout the building.

  • Available for free download for iPhone from Apple App Store, and Google Play for Android devices

• The Unit Owner unit may register access for up to ten (10) individuals

  • Including the owner of record, family, guests, housekeeping & maintenance personnel.
